What will children gain from this camp?

In short, our scout camp, with its wide variety of activities, is designed to meet the needs and emotional wellbeing of our young guests.
Children are fully engaged in a balanced and positive environment of support and friendship, discussion and encouragement, which helps them grow confident and happy. Music, dancing, talks, time with the horses and riding, fun at the lake, a Hora-dzhagi tournament, archery, an art project, nature hikes, discos, evenings by the campfire and all kinds of relay games run by our camp leaders: all these activities that children love make for a full and memorable time of adventure.
Our programme balances sports, music and creative activities. And our style of tent-based scout camp, rooted in Bulgarian traditions, encourages a close connection with nature and nurtures love and respect for it.
Add to all this the sunny southern slope of the Balkan foothills, where our centre stretches over more than 30 hectares, and it’s easy to see why our camp is one of the best places for unforgettable and enriching experiences.

Which tent should we choose, and how should we equip it?

Please prepare camping equipment that is as waterproof as possible. We recommend equipping the tent with an inflatable mattress and a sleeping bag. A two-person tent is right for one child; for two children, choose a three-person tent. Decathlon has a great choice of everything you need for camping.

Recommended water column (hydrostatic head)
As a guide for waterproof fabric:

  • 2000 mm: Perfectly sufficient for standard conditions (seaside, countryside or low mountains in summer). This is the usual minimum for a proper camping tent.
  • 3000 – 5000 mm and more: Recommended for tougher conditions, frequent or heavy rain and mountain camping.

When should we drop off and pick up the children?

Check-in is on Sunday (according to the schedule) from 15:00 to 17:00.
Children are picked up the following Saturday from 10:30 to 12:30.
To keep the camp running smoothly, the centre is open to families only during these hours.

Please read our TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Who looks after the children?

The camp is best suited to independent children who are happy to spend time away from their parents. Their days will be filled with lots of games, run by wonderful, young and creative camp leaders.

Are there showers?

Yes, there are showers and everything needed. Children shower in the afternoon after they come back from the lake.

What ages is the camp for?

Children aged 5–14. Exceptions are possible with the organisers’ approval.

What will they do with the horses?

There are horse sessions every day. They begin with theory on how to be safe around the horses and an introduction to their psychology and physiology, followed by hands-on care and riding.

We practise Natural Horsemanship, a philosophy of caring for and working with horses based on natural methods of communication and understanding.

At the heart of these gentle techniques is not WHAT you want the horse to do, but HOW you tell (and show) it what you’d like it to do.

Where is the mountain lake?

Our picturesque mountain lake is nestled in the very heart of the centre, among cool trees and green lawns. Its water flows naturally straight from the Balkan Mountains, with no chemicals at all.

It is one of our young guests’ favourite spots: an oasis of joy and coolness, where children have fun and refresh themselves safely on the hottest summer days!

Can children keep riding with you after camp and build on their skills?

Our centre has a Riding Academy, where children ride all year round at weekends and study horse psychology and physiology in depth. Once they have the skills they need, they can also go out riding beyond the centre, into nature.

Is a trial day possible?

If you’re wondering how your child will settle into camp life, bring them along one weekend, hear what we think, listen to their story, and then decide.
